Forced Team Bonding/ Demoralizing Work Culture - R&D Technologist Best Formulations Employee Review

Pros

If it wasn't for the few wonderful people in production ops and R&D who care about making efficacious products and following FDA regulations, I would have left earlier.

Cons

The employees and morale from the majority of the R&D team are positive and upbeat. Unfortunately, that morale is lowered with forced team bonding demanded by the manager to try to achieve a fake and utterly staged family environment. The employees need to pay their own money to participate in these costly forced team bonding exercises and if they don't participate then they are ostracized from the team. This makes promotion or salary raises nearly impossible. Production is unhinged and free to do whatever they want without punishment making it hard to fix on-the-floor issues and have permanent solutions in place. Management makes a lot of fake promises for raises and promotions where there is none. Employees are asked to take on extra job titles without the pay raise or promotion.

Pros

Centralized location People were nice enough Work aside lots of different cultures/backgrounds

Cons

As a professional I have never encountered such a subpar working experience until I worked at Best Formulations. If you’re used to working for good companies with set systems, real leadership, benefits etc, this will be a real shock to your system. HR was known to overtly mislead bait/switch roles just to get candidates hired. The vast majority of leadership turned over during my time there - no processes being developed/followed.
