Pros
BeiGene is a growing, global biopharma company with a solid oncology portfolio and a promising pipeline. My colleagues are highly capable, collaborative, fun to work with, and passionate about doing the right thing for patients. And, the company is generous when it comes to compensation, benefits, recognizing good performance, and remote work flexibility--which is becoming increasingly rarer in and out of pharma.
Cons
The "start-up" mentality sometimes means having to roll your sleeves up and do things you haven't done before. This might be overwhelming to some, but I am grateful for the opportunity to learn new things and leave my mark on a growing company. Also, given the US office is in San Mateo, CA, a lot of meetings begin at 12 EDT and occasionally spill over to after 5 EDT, although people try to be sensitive to not scheduling late meetings for people on the East Coast, if possible. Lastly, my previous company shut down between Christmas and New Year. Sadly, BeiGene doesn't do that, and I miss that perk.
