Pros
There are many opportunities to learn new and highly marketable skills as an ALTA intern (meeting management, professionalism, databases, conference planning and RFP process, etc.).
These internships are paid and metro accessible.
Employees are knowledgable in their processes and in general of the history of the industry.
Cons
Employees make fun of and gossip about interns on days the interns aren't in the office.
Don't expect a full time offer after graduation.
Don't expect much after you leave the job - the employee who spoke with the company managing my background check for another job did not do his/her due diligence when checking my employment dates. I had to prove that I worked for the association using my tax information. This was hypocritical considering the association advocates a set of Best Practices.
