- CEO is not a team player. He doesn’t get involved or provide feedback during planning phases but expects us to change stuff at his whim during the development phase, causing a lot of our previous planning to be wasted. - CEO doesn't listen to staff. We have a good team of people that are highly qualified in their fields yet CEO believes he knows better. - Mentions of Pensions, Stocks etc. but no benefits ever actually received. - No flexibility, everyone must work 9AM to 6PM and WFH days must be Tue to Thur. - The team's work is never celebrated. - CEO micromanages the team, causes communication issues by telling developers to work on stuff and to keep it a secret. (I've been told recently that this should be happening less now) - High turnover rate. - No announcements of new hires or people leaving. - Office is located in a not so great area. I've had to walk past blood stains on the path just past the office at least twice which is more than I'd like. - CEO dismisses the work required to achieve features. For example, he will tell developers “Oh you just need to add this” or “You just need to debug it”, when developers have explained to him that it will take quite a bit of work to achieve. - Developers are made to use programming languages that they have no experience with because the CEO wants us to use an existing codebase instead of developing our own in the languages we are proficient in.
