I worked at Eishtec full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You'll meet great people at Eishtec, very few are the submissive, corporate type - mostly they're just ordinary people like you and I. Depending on your team, your outlook, and how fortunate you are in what Team Leader you're given, it can be quite fun on a day-to-day basis. It's a trial by fire. If you can handle Eishtec at its busiest, you'll do well at the literally dozens of better paid customer service jobs... that are out there these days.

    Cons

There are no benefits to speak of and the salary is awful considering the massively high workload (just a hair above minimum wage). It isn't about quality for Eishtec, its about volume. Poorly communicated changes from upper management. As an outsourced contact centre, there is very little that Eishtec can do to stay ahead of the curve in identifying issues and trends, and they don't try particularly hard to either.... Inconsistent leadership. Depending on your Team Leader, the job will either be bearable, or insufferable. Petty office politics and favouritism are abound. Eishtec centres are usually situated in small to medium sized towns too, so expect all of the drama and playground antics that go along with that. More often than not, the entire site is run like a school. For young people fresh out of secondary school, this can be fine, but it doesn't do much to familiarise you with a professional setting.

    Advice to Management

Back when Eishtec opened its doors in Wexford and Waterford, it was a much needed shot in the arm for unemployment figures in the South East. Unfortunately, Eishtec's management still seem to operate under the pretense that there are no other jobs out there for those suited to this kind of work. My only advice to management would be to take a long hard look at the calibre of staff you have lost to the likes of... Apple, eBay, Amazon and newer remote offerings like Squarespace.

I worked at Eishtec full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Exposure to a variety of managerial/leadership activities by the nature of the position, if used well you can learn a lot and gain valuable experience - Great working relations with colleagues

    Cons

    - Narrow sighted in approach to strategic goals & reactive to events; but this is more again the double edged sword of the nature of the business i.e. an outsources must meed demands of main client

    Advice to Management

Set up clearer paths for progression & objective methods/processes to meritocracy of promotions etc. Solution for majority of problems is quite easy if you stop the divide that exists between "agent" & "support" within the company as all are valuable people.
