I have been working at Dublin Institute of Technology part-time

    Pros

    - For the most part, very nice people working there - easy to engage with - Grangegorman campus is a beautiful campus

    Cons

    - The bureaucracy at DIT stunts the development of what could be great, innovative ideas - The nature of the contract types, that staff move in and out of roles, makes it challenging to feel a sense of leadership and understand team dynamics

    Advice to Management

Come up with a policy, or even forum, for staff members who move from "acting" roles back into their prior permanent roles to address the leadership/power component -- if someone was in a leadership role for [x] months and then goes back to their former role that was not in leadership, how are they meant to relinquish, or exercise, the power they had previously? A failure to address this could threaten team... dynamics and ultimately, productivity and connection with the mission.
