Pros
- My coworkers are really nice - Customers can be really nice and tend to say how appreciative they are of our employees
Cons
- The pay for the amount of work they expect you to do - Stores are given 120 hrs a week to split between 8 people and the wonder why stock isn’t being pushed - Multiple times throughout the week, employees are forced to work ALONE for a solid 5-6 hrs. If you can’t get stock out, check out customers, and manager an entire store AT THE SAME TIME, you will get talked about and that your “a lazy worker” - The cameras NEVER work and they refuse to add any on the outside of the store (which is why we get robbed so much) - It’s so unsafe, I’ve had many dangerous and unsettling experiences at my workplace and I was told “it happens everywhere, your fine” by management - NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOU, it don’t matter how many years you been there, how hardworking you may be, the company does not care about you not one bit. Your literally just another clog in the money machine making sure they’re well fed while your overworked, overlooked, and miserable. - If you’re a manager? Forget ab it, your gonna basically LIVE at the store with no extra bonuses, acknowledgement, or anything, you’ll literally be a worker they can make do everything and then threaten you with losing your job if you don’t do it.. sounds fun right?

Pros
Flexable Schedules, decent pay, good benefits, employee assistance programs, tuition assistance.
Cons
Frequently understaffed, some locations have trouble opening daily due to understaffing, company doesn't care locations are understaffed creating hazardous working conditions.

Pros
They are so desperate that I got hired less than a week after submitting my application and had my first shift not even a few days later. IF the self-checkout is fully operational (i.e. the machine can take card and cash) then its one less thing to worry about.
Cons
The pay is abysmal (at my location you get paid $10.50 /hr as a sales associate, which isn't great, but other locations have it WAY worse.) You will be with 1 other person (provided you're a sales associate) aka the keyholder. If you are a keyholder you will be alone if nobody can come in and help, and the hours are insane. I've not even worked for 3 months yet and I've seen 4 people get hired and quit. Our current staff is at ~5 workers including the Store Manager. You WILL get burnt out, especially if you're working 30-40 hours a week like I was. I've seen about half of my coworkers cry because of stress. When Fresh Truck gets here, it's like hell hath been unleashed onto our store for 3 hours as we try to man the front and get the perishables in. The machines like to go offline quite often and will need to be reset at LEAST 1x a week.

Pros
Some of the coworkers are nice and they're fast about hiring and the uniform is just black and jeans
Cons
For $10.50 ish an hour your expected to be doing something the entire time if your not actively working with someone you should be stocking or doing something your not allowed to sit down your not allowed to snack or have a drink where customers can see they even changed my hours by minutes so i didnt get my break they made me work the register entierly alone because dg dosent hire enough people to have more then one person working up front so even tho itll be 9 at night youll be basically alone other then the keyholder or manager stocking or pulling ad or something or other out of earshot the customers are sometimes bloody awful i even had one threaten me they changed the schedule and never asked if i was ok with changes or even told me about sudden schedule changes getting the employee discount coupons were complex i never even ended up getting it they expect you to come in even if the roads arnt really in good conditions they would even yell at me for being late by a few minutes they insist on keeping a outside trashcan with a wide hole where people throw all kinds of nastyness and even whole bags of trash sometimes they also expect you to work when your sick

Pros
Sometimes encounter nice people. Sometimes have nice co-workers.
Cons
Incredibly terribly defined workload and criminally understaffed intentionally to bleed employee wages to lower prices. Management is mostly awful with people in positions they are not qualified for at all. Good work is rewarded with heavier workload disguised as "trust" Predatory promotion system designed to bleed more hours out of workers for less pay. Promotion in the work environment is a salary trap to double your workload for a slight if any increase in pay. Unfulfilling and incredibly hostile work environment that will make you feel underappreciated and exploited. Will require your entire life revolve around the job to even get anywhere near enough done to get a store afloat. Entire job culture revolves around a game of catch-up with deliveries and stocking and trying to fight over work hours due to there never being enough to staff the store. Benefits are non-existent and your job is never safe. Senior management cares about how much value for money your work is. It's all numbers and they could care less if they work you to the bone. The pay is awful and will never feel like you were rewarded fairly for your work unless you intentionally slack. Your "opportunities" come in the form of being more exploited per weekly basis.

Pros
Friendly store manager Friendly customers Ability to learn new things Able help customers find things 30 minute break
Cons
Couldn't always get products stocked since I was on register also helping customers check out. Customers didn't always see bell to push for service Store manager plus her assistant left for another job almost at the same time leaving us with one other assistant manager and short of regular employees. The district manager didn't give us a new store manager right away so things were really stressful and had to close the store to be able to stock. New store manager didn't work longer hours to help us out plus she started making strict rules even though we were great employees. Customers would open food products such as food or drinks and not pay for it. We'd find open packages laying around daily. Customers would make the store messy sometimes and not put things back where they'd find it. They didn't always put away their carts either. Customers came in at the last minute of closing to shop. The company hires inexperienced store managers.

Pros
Learning new processes( as you have to pretty much be able to run the store by yourself at all times, since they never schedule anyone with you), weekly paycheck, decent starting pay
Cons
Store managers can get away with leaving early every single day and calling you in to take their place. Store manager can make you close the store 6 out of 7 nights a week, sometimes even calling you in on your only night off to close just so she can go home instead. Store manager can retaliate against you for a call to corporate on them that YOU didn't even make.. so then you quit and try to make an alternative dispute ticket? They will make it take 3+ weeks to over a month before they even play phone tag with you and make it impossible to actually talk to someone. Still waiting, as my store manager marked me ineligible for rehire when she learned I quit her store and was in the process of getting hired at another location. Only district manager can help fix it, but of course he doesn't respond even though I kept communicating with him and another store manager throughout my struggles with the Manager/company. I worked 40+ hours trying to be a good employee but my narcissistic, self absorbed store manager ruined the whole experience/, environment for me.

Pros
Loved the people I worked with... Great team.
Cons
Getting my schedule at the last second made things hard. Last min schedule changes are just wrong and.. not being sure I'd get the time off I requested.. even when I was told I would.. ultimately made me move on.

Pros
Supervisor was great and not a micromanager and was encouraging. She did the best she could with what she was given.!
Cons
Co-workers who don’t do their job on previous shift, so you do a lot of fixing others job. Pay was a major con and so was the amount of strenuous work on your back.
