I have been working at Daimler Trucks North America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Salary is fair (not great, but around industry average, this is a place you should go if you are chasing stability not wealth) -Coworkers are amazing - Management has a listening ear here

    Cons

-Disconnect between where the company is on the level of Human Resources/Leadership and Non-managerial employees. Consistently through the pandemic, HR & eventually leadership persistently drummed the bells about returning to the office. Numerous times it was conveyed that employees feel pressured by the mentioning of this topic but HR/Management simply dismissed this. Not pushing enough technologically. The engineering department is flexible enough to consider technological advancements in the trucking industry. Still, because the organization runs lean there is not enough man power to really push the needle in the industry. Not diverse enough. It feels like diversity is largely talked about but not implemented enough. Very low diversity numbers in engineering. For women <20% of engineers are women. Similar numbers for all people of color collectively.

I worked at Daimler Trucks North America part-time

    Pros

Clean facility, cafeteria is pretty good

    Cons

Never received overtime pay, long hours, mandatory overtime is a weekly thing, if you haven’t been there for at least 15 years, there’s a big chance that you’re going to get laid off sooner or later

I have been working at Daimler Trucks North America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Ok. Very German work culture, but it is completely different in each department. Purchasing is very intense, but rewarding if you have it in you. Leadership is very progressive and people oriented.

    Cons

Pay isn’t great and the global corporate structure is like wearing a straight jacket.
