I have been working at Daimler India Commercial Vehicles full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Brand Name, Excellent Factory,

    Cons

The company is run on presentations where leadership wants to see only the goods news. You have to be YES BOSS to Management else you will be thrown out next day. There is no guarantee that your quality of work will bring you growth - only way is to say flatter your boss & superbosses. Focus is not quality of time but quantity of time - meetings are specially called after 6pm to prove to leadership team that... the team is ready to put in extra efforts. Dept Heads will make employees to stay back in Diwali , Annual Block Closure and other company declared holidays(weekends) to prove to other Depts that they are hard working - cabs/transportation not provided for working late nights/holidays in office. Daimler India is the lowest paymaster in its segment - set up in India for its cheap labour and fantasy for white skin people. Annual growth of salary 2-3%. If you have started your career here and worked for 5-6years, your salary will be half or less of what is given by Tatas, Mauruti, Leyland etc. These days they have stopped hiring from Tier 1-2 colleges and they hire engineering graduates on temporary role and pay INR 10000-15000 per month, make them work overtime for 1 year in name of converting to permanent and again extend the contract for another 6 months or ask to leave - total abuse of power.

    Advice to Management

Invest in Top Skilled Human Capital and Innovation instead of COST Reduction if you need to sustain and compete with Tata, AL and Mahindra. Cost cut is a reactive approach for not forecasting your future correctly. Something that is done in Germany and Japan may not fit in India and vice versa.
