Pros

The company is here for clients, first and last. I feel empowered as a fiduciary on behalf of clients to be open and honest. I never feel like I'm selling to clients, or offering products/services they don't need. Good benefits - insurance is decent, HSA is great, PTO/sick time and sabbatical every 5 years is wonderful. The collaborative environment is perfect to learn, grow, and develop your career. The options are almost limitless (for corporate). Once you get through your two years on the phones to doors are open to progress to wherever your ambition takes you. Schwab offers $5k/yr reimbursement to complete your degree (undergrad or masters), or towards professional designations (CFP, CWS, etc.). I am encouraged with the various Employee Resource Groups to actively volunteer in the local community (paid volunteer time!). The company as a whole is conservative corporate America, but I still feel seen and heard with the sponsored LGBTQ+ group and support from my coworkers and management. I'm proud to be a Schwabbie.

Cons

The FC comp structure is fairly standard but it still feels like I'm getting shortchanged. The inflation adjustment from 2021 to 2022 was minimal at best. The feeling of cranking the hamster wheel is real. If I'm not working I feel I am missing out on opportunities. Its part of the gig, doesn't make it any better though.

Very manageable work life balance with good benefits. Your mileage may vary with mgmt. Some is communicative and effective and others can be politically motivated and difficult to deal work around. There was significant opportunity for career progression from entry lvl to highest lvl individual contributors. People management positions can be hard to come by
