    Pros

Great campus, great culture - people are really willing to take the time to provide mentorship

    Cons

Some of the same pains that any F500 public company would face - there is bureaucracy throughout the organization that must be cut down.

I have been working at Charles Schwab full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

You are surrounded by some of the most amazing, talented sales people in the industry. Think about it. Schwab clients do not like paying fees, that's a big reason they come to Schwab. Schwab FC's are tasked with moving those self directed clients to a fee based platform. By the way, they are incredibly good at this!!!

    Cons

It's like quicksand. You feel like your slowly sinking every year. Incredible complacency within the FC ranks. A culture of the Have's/Have's Not has been created within the FC ranks. You feel stuck. Sabbaticals are great but they always threaten to take them away. Compensation is always changing. If your here long enough, you become numb to all the changes. FC Comp is our #1 expense. Firm loves to spend money on initiates that have little to no impact (ie. UOP). Leadership is always changing.

    Pros

Great Company Culture and strong leader in financial planning and stock trading

    Cons

Growing so fast has created chaos and duplicated work. Poor management of T&E over 2019 cause 3% layoff

I have been working at Charles Schwab full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Schwab is an incredibly client-first firm. Everyone is very nice - in fact, everyone refers to the culture as "Schwab-Nice".

    Cons

Yes, people are nice, but it definitely comes at the expense of getting things done. It's an incredibly meeting heavy culture - mainly because people meet to talk instead of getting things done. Very few people take and distribute notes so there are often follow up meetings to discuss what occurred in previous meetings. If you're ambitious and like to get things done, ensure you go in as an MD or above. Senior Managers are not respected or given any authority. It is also incredibly difficult to move around or get promoted, especially as a senior manager (which is the lowest level). So many people are vying for very very few positions on the Retail corporate side.

    Advice to Management

Hold your people accountable! Give more authority to everyone to allow decisions to be made, to allow progress to occur. It seems even the most minor decisions need SVP approval - so frustrating!!!
