I worked at Cerner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Medical insurance, quality basic training for staff coming out of college, accessible on bus from town

    Cons

Lack of career opportunities, competent staff usually leave as company has no interest in retaining them, employee is a number, recent organisational changes resulted in staff being laid off. Management is interested in their progression rather than their staff. Bureaucratic approach, micro management, networking is the way to move upwards, no consideration for staff strength. Advice to join for basic training and leave within 1.5 years for a company offering continuous training program and better benefits, which is not difficult to find in Dublin.

I have been working at Cerner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good Salary, Good career progression.

    Cons

Work really stressful, non stop taking phone calls for the entire day, up to 90 calls per day, you finish the day very tired. Money not worth at all.

I have been working at Cerner full-time for less than a year

    Pros

->All Associates(Thats the substitution for word people or colleagues in Cerner) are very friendly in Cerner. ->A Lot of patience is displayed by everyone. ->You learn a lot in terms of Development practices or S/W development, Especially if u were not into Agile(which is used here) and want to learn more about the software development tips and tricks. ->Salary is good compared to other companies. [More about this in Cons] ->Few extra benefits are also available like free physician+ Health Coach+ Nutritionist(Each of them might cost atleast 500rs to 1000rs or approx $10-$15 outside), Free Zumba, Fitness club, etc, Free Gym for all associates. ->Being honest is appreciated, even if you do mistakes. And its forgiven for first few times, and also a general discussion will be held so that everyone are following the same. ->Almost a plastic free zone in every place possible, so you get a cup and free insulated water bottle. ->Constant EMails from the CEO regarding major changes. which puts a smile on your face.

    Cons

->CTC Figure is very good, but breakdown is very bad. Eg: Even though you get a good individual insurance for the premium of 150rs-250rs, you are mandated to avail family insurance of much higher premium(10 times more than above figure) even if you don't want this scheme. ->No Bonus provided in this company. ->We have to pay for our Gratuity, which we may or may not get back. ->There is rumor that every year or so, company's appraisal will be 1 month delayed, Which means that salary hike of $10 or 20 from every employee is gone for a month. ->Don't expect laptop Dock's if you are used to in previous companies. All you get is a laptop, a charger and a monitor+Keyboard+ mouse. You will have to plug in and plug out daily. ->Work life balance might be impaired if you are in critical fields such as manager, or tenured associate, since escalations might come anytime any day, and you need to be ready. These below just enhances employee experience as per my opinion: ->No tissue boxes provided. ->Don't expect free quality tea/coffee( You get some tea bags, which no one uses, and a coffee dispatcher), nor Food coupons. ->No surprise goodies. This is generally provided if a company is doing beyond expectations, or as expected.
