  1. "Wish I had moved on earlier"

    • Career Opportunities
Former Employee - HCA in East London

I worked at Care UK full-time

    Pros

Some great and dedicated people who work tirelessly in trying to create a service which you would want for yourself or your family.

    Cons

A great shame that upper management neither listen or act when given feedback. In fact when informed that a lack of cohesion between some departments is constantly affecting the patient pathway actually deny this is occurring.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to what your workforce feedback. You are constantly informed that in some areas the patient pathway is not running as smoothly as it could and should. There is a definite lack of cohesion within some departments which impacts on both the patients and workforce. Lack of accountability for repeated errors in regard to the administration is startling and quite frankly puzzling, leaving staff... demoralised and frustrated as to why. Be proactive rather than reactive. “You rise by lifting others”

I worked at Care UK full-time for less than a year

    Pros

On a positive note, the hourly rate is higher than most of the other care providers in the UK. The training is relatively good overall and the management seem to have a desire to improve the business.

    Cons

Many departments are ran by individuals who lack management and people skills. On far too many occasions when working for them did I see junior management and supervisors 'yelling' at staff members in full view of other staff members and the public.

    Advice to Management

Address the management and people skills of your junior management and supervisors. Many lack the ability to appropriately communicate problems (i.e. behind closed doors and in a constructive manor). I would also look at the induction for your new 'seniors' to ensure they are fully equipped with everything they need to work effectively before being allowed to run a shift.
