Pros
many opportunities for building experience across a broad range of teaching goals (different exam courses, different levels and ages, etc.) good staff support at the location I was working from. Help with bureaucracy of moving to Italy at the beginning. Lots of resources and help with lesson planning for new teachers
Cons
work/life balance is not great. Fairly basic pay with no real benefits
- Former Employee★★★★★

Cons
Low salary compared to other jobs

Excellent C.V. experience
23 Mar 2019 - ESL Teacher in Acqui TermeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
As a first long term position I have gained a fantastically wide range of experience, from young learners to adults, across all levels. Wide variety of class types available to teach, including General English, Business, exam specific classes, one to one and groups. Classes are well sized and relatively well separated based on level. Good support from colleagues and the manager prior to teaching a new type of class. Good resources available for planning combined with a helpful amount of freedom in methodology so long as the syllabus is followed. Pay is good depending on the cost of living of the area you work in. Rarely asked to work on Saturdays and only ever in the morning.
Cons
Lots of paperwork, which while not surprising, can get ahead of you if you are not organised or set the time aside. Busy days can get quite hectic if an unexpected issue arises, can be asked to cover classes for 10 minutes or a couple of hours on the spot. For this reason it is important to be well ahead of planning and comfortable with throwing together a lesson in a matter of minutes. With so many centres across such a large area I think it is difficult to know how the school you are interested in will be run compared to others.

Pros
It is a well organised school with plenty of resources in a great location and it provides adequate support. They always have plenty of work to offer
Cons
They don't offer full-time contracts, holiday pay or sick pay and they expect you to work into the evening. Not enough teacher training

Cons

Pros
Fresh brand, clean fresh classrooms and opportunities to teach in companies, nice kids
Cons
long, anti social hours, availability from 0800-1000pm, sneaky, greedy boss, they feel you are 'lucky' to have a job, awful pay 700 euros per month, vile archaic shared accomodation.
