Pros
+ Vision, Values & Covenants help create ethical working environment; not perfect but everyone tries; company feels more values-driven than other companies + colleagues are good people, smart, committed, and want to help + company reputation + long term orientation and not as volatile as publicly traded peers + diverse mix of markets provides some protection against industry-specific down cycles; if you are flexible, mobile, and perform well your job security is better than at companies with fewer sectors + actively engaged executive management + good changes ongoing: innovation & Future Fund, employee survey efforts, diversity & inclusion, transparent is gradually improving + sustainability
Cons
- mobility and being willing to go where the action is = key factor for accelerated career development; not all bad just have to be aware of it before signing up - gaps in diversity & inclusion, but the company is trying to improve on this - work life balance is difficult but that is a challenge industry-wide and company is working on it - difficult market conditions in some sectors are impacting new project awards and salaries; 3-4 years without salary raises for some people but will likely get better when markets improve
