I have been working at Bazaarvoice full-time

    Pros

I feel trusted at Bazaarvoice. I can work from home when I need to, come in a little early or leave a little early if I need to. Obviously, I make sure to be worth of this trust but the flexibility is nice to have when I need it. Generous vacation policy, good benefits. I like the culture - lots of young folks, very nice.

    Cons

Bad internal documentation, lots of tribal knowledge, multiple names for everything, processes often aren't clear. Recently purchased by Marlin Equity and have seen outsourcing and layoffs within the last couple years. I am less confident in the future of my position and room for advancement.

    - People are humble and willing to help each other
    - Great opportunity to learn on the job
    - Bi weekly gongs give a good update on company direction

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Continue to be transparent with your staff, it makes a huge difference.

    Pros

There are no pros when you work remote.

    Cons

Do not accept a job with BV. They like their moderators to sit around and wait for work. You will waste your work day waiting for work that will not be coming to your screen. And when you do work you will barely make minimum wage. You could make a lot more money cleaning houses!

    Pros

The management and on boarding process are both great. Training is incredibly detailed and they do a great job of coaching you along the way. The company culture is fantastic and everyone is very helpful, they are some of the most talented people you could ask to work with.

while there is great opportunity for earning potential, base pay is a bit low.

    Advice to Management

As the company continues to grow and a new CEO is hired, be transparent with the employees to reassure their position is safe.

    Pros

    1. People - the business is definitely employee centric; the company goes above and beyond in creating a relaxed and welcoming culture to thrive in. Colleagues are extremely supportive and helpful.
    2. Events and team building - Genuine emphasis on building relationships with your colleagues; there are a number of weekly lunches, picnics, team nights etc which really make you feel part of the family. The All hands idea joins the offices together nicely too.
    3. Career Progression - there are so many ways to develop and improve in your current role with the option to grow into new areas of the business too
    4. Commission and compensation here is very good - you are rewarded for success which is important
    5. Nerf Guns/table tennis - all round general fun!

    Cons

Lunches are always salad oriented/healthy - a burger or pizza will do just fine!!

    Advice to Management

Keep building the business; there will be turbulence along the way, but keep doing what you are doing.

I worked at Bazaarvoice part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible hours; relatively easy work

    Cons

Got rid off hourly wage incentives and free time off when they became privately owned; jobs were no longer secure and available work inconsistent once they became private as well

    Advice to Management

Invest not only in the performance of your employees but also the wellness of them; be honest and upfront about internal changes within the company
