I worked at Bazaarvoice full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the best working environments I have ever been at. The people there are amazing.

Access to anything you need to get the job done.

    Very flexible working hours.

    Cons

Was quite far from where I lived, meant commute was about 3 hours a day.

Work is repetitive, as a designer made me worried as I ended up with a portfolio of templated ratings and reviews system.

They treated the head of design quite badly. He had built a great team.

I have been working at Bazaarvoice part-time

    Pros

Can't think of any at this time.

    Cons

In house is sitting in the castle while the peasants do the work. Soon we probably have to pay to work here.

    Advice to Management

Just be honest with us what's really going on instead of always lowering the weighting and acting like we peasants have all been overpaid for way too long.

I have been working at Bazaarvoice part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working from home is a plus, but no so much when you are stressing to get hours

    Cons

This used to be a great job, but things have changed. Work has become sparse, yet you are supposed to keep min hour requirements and your percentages high. Being that I have been here almost 4 years, I can tell when someone is trying to get me to quit. It seems that is the way it is going. You are told to not do something and then when you follow you are penalized for it. And then you are told you should be working towards a certain goal, but things change in your system with no knowledge. And when you bother to ask about it, they give you snarky remarks and there is really nothing you can do to defend yourself. Frustrating as I see myself as a person who will always accept accountability and do care about my work performance. The team is not backing each other. Failed content that is wrong left and right. I always choose to BL content, but others do not feel the same. I think this company may get its wish soon to run me off. I do not like feeling like I am not as smart as I was when I started and taken advantage of. Your opinion doesn't even come to the table as a moderator.

    Advice to Management

Maybe check what your people in charge of our work are doing. Maybe be open to hearing how they are wishy washy and then when it comes down to who is right, the moderators do not stand a chance. Compassion would be nice, but hey, who has that anymore

I have been working at Bazaarvoice full-time

    Pros

I feel trusted at Bazaarvoice. I can work from home when I need to, come in a little early or leave a little early if I need to. Obviously, I make sure to be worth of this trust but the flexibility is nice to have when I need it. Generous vacation policy, good benefits. I like the culture - lots of young folks, very nice.

    Cons

Bad internal documentation, lots of tribal knowledge, multiple names for everything, processes often aren't clear. Recently purchased by Marlin Equity and have seen outsourcing and layoffs within the last couple years. I am less confident in the future of my position and room for advancement.

I have been working at Bazaarvoice full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great office culture
    - Management really care about making the EMEA business successful
    - People are humble and willing to help each other
    - Great opportunity to learn on the job
    - Bi weekly gongs give a good update on company direction

    Cons

    - London head office is in Hammersmith
    - EMEA and US businesses need to be better aligned...but that's the same for all companies I've worked for with a US head office

    Advice to Management

Continue to be transparent with your staff, it makes a huge difference.

I have been working at Bazaarvoice part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are no pros left here.

    Cons

Decreasing salary, poor management, no room for growth, continues change, unclear future.

I used to love working here but absolutely hate it now. With the latest acquisition, the Content Moderators are hurting the most and management doesn’t care, it’s everyone on its on here and people look after their own situation and salary in the first place. Things have gone downhill really fast the last couple years. The worst part is that with all the changes, my hourly rate is only $7 right now. For a lot of Content Moderators, the salaries have been decreasing and management is aware of this. There is no positive outlook for the future. I talk to a lot of other Moderators and most of them lost their joy of working here. The only reason why people stay here is the work from home option. The compensation is just ridiculous though, every single job these days pays more. I have been a top ten Moderator for many years and am currently in the process of accepting another position and leaving here. The future for Content Moderators is really bad here.

    Advice to Management

Follow our previous CEO and leave.
