I worked at Baker Hughes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good package. Average hike. Very good hike for a few people. Great work life balance. Not much work pressure. Latest technology. Challenging work. Good work recognition (verbal recognition only) Company spends lavishly on events and celebrations. Nice and friendly colleagues.

    Cons

Jumps into new technology without properly understanding it. This often leads to bad designs. Poor process and senior employees think they have a very good process. Very good hikes and opportunities for those who are very friendly with managers. Hikes for others are not based on performance. HR in Kochi is powerless and is completely under an overseas HR. This causes too much delay. Even offer letters and... experience letters are delayed too much. General lack of professionalism.

    Advice to Management

Improve process followed (urgently). Give more work to emoloyees to stay profitable. More research ( more effort, not more time) should be ensured before bringing new technologies.

I have been working at Baker Hughes full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Benefits are comprehensive Flexible Working is local negotiation Opportunities or Often Soft Skills Training is Vast

    Cons

Culture can be intense and disrespectful Work-Life Balance is an afterthought Leadership can be rudderless Training is lacking on Job Skills

    Advice to Management

Need to Stop Management by Guilt - personalising delays to projects as employees do not want to work more than they are is toxic Committ to look after Employees - review the work loads, take responsibility for the over committment of the business Clarify the priorities from Top to Bottom - currently disjointed or clarifications pushed back to sites to decide Training needs to do more on the job skill not soft... skills

I have been working at Baker Hughes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexibility, work/life balance (Depending on your role) is good, room for growth

    Cons

Old style of management, not progressive, flexibility is great but work/life balance can take a toll and follows you, there is not PTO only "permissive leave" where you ask manager approval, however, because of this, work follows you and you are expected to be online at times when you are on vacation.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the old style of management practice and look at innovative ways to improve. The CFOs and other executives in the business get so caught up on their roles that they don't take the time to understand the problems or dilemmas that employees are facing. Get off your high horse and work along with your team.

I worked at Baker Hughes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay Work life balance in most projects Get to work on new technologies Work from home allowed except one team Good medical insurance with parents covered and insurance amount increases as you move upwards designation wise

    Cons

Lacks good sensible senior management and tech or lead developers Lots of code is being developed and scrapped and most of the time if not scrapped does not goes to production Digital product line closed since it did generated few clients but no revenue Hikes are less and sometimes no bonus pay from past 2 years Lots of politics and bootlicking which increased from last 2-3 years which lets some talented lateral... hires leave organisation within a year

    Advice to Management

Hire and try to maintain some good mid level technical staff. Company has a crunch of such resources. Don’t make inexperienced developers as RM and mid level managers
