    I worked at BNY Mellon full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Good temporary job for a few months, overall nice people across all company, I made a very good friends there. Sadly these are the only pros I can think of.

    Cons

    work - life balance is a joke - they expect a lot of overtime (some people are doing 30 hours per month). You will be expected to work during the weekends. BTW - for most of your overtime you will not be paid, also you cannot take a time in lieu instead. Unable to take a full break or a lunch break at all, because of "urgent matters". Be prepared you will be declined time off because "there is no adequate cover in the sister - department" (despite your job has nothing to do with that business line). Be also prepared to forget about your life after work - to plan anything after your contractual hours, because you rarely will leave on time; - no clear structure of the process, millions of systems instead of one proper, light years behind industry leaders. It takes 3 minutes to process one task, but another 20 minutes to do administrative job around it (mostly manual work)... - team spirit - depends on the team, but the one I worked was not a team, but a wrestling ring. It was run by 2 supervisors against whom there were official regular bullying claims logged to HR by number of people because of their scandalous attitude towards the staff. Despite of that management and HR did nothing and they are still working. Number of workers on stress leave. They intended to hire the best staff in the industry, however after 2 months of working with those 2 ladies, the best people were rated as miserable. Staff turnover is getting extremely high, everyone knows why, but management denies to do anything about it; - constant need to proof yourself to extend the contract, constant unknown if you will be working there in next months or not; - lack of training provided, staff learns on own mistakes; - supervisors have very little or no influence of the process in their teams, despite they are being held accountable for any single mistake; - excessive workload, you will get 3 things to be done in the same time - how long without a proper break, overtime can you survive there in such conditions? - management technique - "put a lot of pressure". They don't care or they don't want to care about the job and issues their employees are doing;

    I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good salary package, cab facility is good, food is good in cafeteria, infrastructure is good, can learn may things, technology sound company

    Cons

    Some processes have less manpower and bad work allocation, management always want cost cutting, won't allow overtime without only reasonable reason which they want from you. Work life balance is worst. Less promotion opportunities.

    I worked at BNY Mellon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Decent salary and benefits, Good work-life balance

    Cons

    Don't trust what HR says during salary negotiation, once you are in HR takes their hands off. Yearly increments and bonuses in some business units are pathetic even for very good performers. Like with many other companies, management takes credit for the good things and ground level staff are responsible for anything that goes wrong.
