I have been working at Austin Industries full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Lots of work all across the United States and expanding

    Cons

Upper mgmt not strong at all. Not involved on large projects enough . Jobs not bided correctly

    Advice to Management

Get proactive. Get out there and see a project and predict problems and deviate as needed . Make sure the bid is on par for our requirements. Remember if you man up directs you will need to man up Indirects. Field verification is a must. Do not have too many people multitasking g so much that they are not able to fulfill their primary role. One team starts with you.

I worked at Austin Industries full-time

    Pros

Nothing to add here at all.

    Cons

    - This place is highly political. In order to do well you have to drink the kool-aid. You will only excel if you brown-nose and are in the cliques. - Communication is very poor. - Managers frequently embarrass/belittle their direct reports. - There’s nothing special about working here. The people are so lazy and ignorant. - There’s a lot of turnover in various departments. - They set you up to fail. - People... will lie, cheat, steal to get to the top. If you want a happy and healthy workplace, do not work here.

I worked at Austin Industries full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Management routinely removed from site by the client.

    Cons

Management only exists to put out fires when they arise. They also ignore requests for PPE/ Tools needed( even when hiring) for their own benefit be it financial or political.AESOP program looks good on paper but try withdrawing money from it before you retire or die. Wake up people! They’re keeping the money in that statement they send you every year! Benefits are trumped up to be better than they are and they have... increased almost exponentially inspite of the customers added contributions over the last three years. Corporate is uninvolved even on the largest of sites/projects.maybe once a year....GOOD LUCK! Eight year company veteran. Good riddance!

    Advice to Management

Stop sending site managers who have no understanding of the trades the people they are overseeing work in but are merely politicians protecting their own interests i.e. :AESOP.
