Pros

1)Work from home 2) Health benefits 3)Medical sales resume experience

Cons

1)The highest rate of employee turnover I have ever seen. In my year there I saw over 20 AE's come and go on a team of 10 people. Owner sees no value in retaining human capital or focus on employee growth. 2) No 401K or match. 3) CRM is archaic and they use a different platform for everything. Over 7 tools that all could be done with Salesforce if they paid the money. 4)Says "START UP" but does not have any funding and does not give any type of share purchase option 5) UNREALISTIC OTE AND COMPENSATION PLAN 6) No bonus or presidents club for being top performer. 30% of team hits quota due to unrealistic expectations. Overall distrust in lead distribution and blatant manipulation of lead pool throughout the team by management 7)Unqualified management provides unhelpful advice based on metrics that has no correlation to customer engagement or success. Mandatory daily meetings and micro-management. 8) Marketing has no quota and provides leads that have very low conversion rate 9) No opportunity to prospect or go outside of controlled lead flow 10) You have to work weekends to hit minimum quota

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback. We’re sorry your experience did not meet expectations. While last year was a tumultuous year for many companies with the markets, and unfortunately had a few departures throughout that time. We’re still proud that we were able to grow our sales team by 20% over that time and having 3 promotions within the team. We offer a unique product and thus unique sales environment working directly with the hearing aid user. We have an open door policy for feedback at all levels and encourage team members to bring up any concerns while with us. Also, we provide an anonymous feedback form for those not comfortable bringing it up directly, which is reviewed by leadership. However, we do take this feedback seriously. As we grow as a startup and continue to go through funding, we are committed to making our benefits, tools/resources more robust. We have already consolidated some tech stacks, implemented more tools to support engaging feedback and coaching to sales reps have more constructive 1:1s. We are dedicated to supporting our team so that they can continue to provide amazing support/service to our customers to allow them easier access to hearing care.

Disappointing Experience

Pros

1. Full WFH environment 2. 'Chill' culture 3. Inbound leads - no hunting for leads but lead quality will vary GREATLY. You can expect anywhere from 10-15 leads a day. 4. Unlimited PTO at the time of joining and was never denied PTO 5. A lot of great AE's who mean well and care about the mission

Cons

1. Misleading 'uncapped commission' promised during interview process with OTE being in the 80-90k range. Real OTE at the time of working there was around 65-70k range. 2. Only about 30% of AE's are hitting goal each month. OTE is very difficult to achieve. 3. Inside sales role but management treats you like you are a true outside sales rep who prospects their own leads (you don't - you get a set amount of relatively cold leads every day that you can contact) 4. On the phone for 3-4 hours a day speaking with older customers who cant hear you or don't know who Audicus is. 5. Little to no support from management after initial training/ramp period 6. Lack of transparency with leads. Some super hot leads will be repeat customers who are coming back to buy again and those only get sent to selected AE's - not round robin. 7. Politics and bureaucracy in a small company - can be toxic at times. 8. Never had a QBR meeting with my sales manager even though I was supposed to have multiple during my tenure. 9. Turn over on the sales team was ridiculous. Team of about 15 reps and two AE's on average were leaving or being fired each month. 10. Sales managers are not impressive at all and offer little to no tangible assistance in your day to day work flow. 11. No 401k match or stock purchasing plan. Simply a cog in the machine and you never have feeling that Audicus truly wants you invested long term in the company. 12. Witnessed fraudulent activity from AE's who would sign financing contracts for older customers in their name. Nothing but slaps on the wrist from management when they found out. Disappointing.

Pros

Work life balance was good, I never checked my work emails after work or on the weekends.

Cons

In sales and customer service here all they care about is productivity, there is no concern for the quality of your work. It's all about doing the most calls and the most emails hourly. Employees are constantly micromanaged. A lot of turnover occurred while I was there and instead of looking into it they brushed it off and said it was just "not a fit anymore" for those who left. They had no HR when I was there so whenever anyone had issues there was no one to go to. The discrepancy in pay for employees that have the same title or do the same work is concerning (especially when those being underpaid tend to be female). There's little possibility for upward or even lateral mobility after one year, even if you put in the work and show that you are capable they usually prefer to hire from outside. They frequently promise new opportunities but never follow through.
