Large Caseloads & low pay
9 Mar 2023 - Case Manager in Tucson, AZRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Some of the families you are helping truly do need someone to coordinate all the care a child with developmental disabilities needs. It's rewarding to help in those cases.
Cons
Very large caseloads with little to no acceleration period. This is due to many factors but high staff turn over is certainly one. The pay is incredibly low and advancing in the field is a cryptic maze. The value of paperwork you are expected to complete for each case is truly insane.

Pros
They finally gave raises to the front line
Cons
-Virtually everything -The raises don't do anything given how employees are treated.

Little disorganized at times, but working on getting better
- Current Employee, more than 8 years★★★★★
Pros
I use to love helping people.
Cons
This place is toxic to the core. They do not care about the community or the people weare supposed to help. They treat the employees like we are not even human. Its not how hard you work its who you know. If your not a favorite or related to someone its a dead end job.

JOKE OF AN AGENCY
25 Nov 2022 - Adult Protective Services Investigator IIIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Steady paycheck. Az State Retirement. Decent medical and dental benefits.
Cons
People in positions of management who don't know what they're doing. Staff promoted based on ethnic/racial quotas and not on performance or job knowledge. Poorly run. Understaffed. Underpaid. Unrealistic caseloads. Unrealistic expectations of investigators.

Rewarding but Fast Paced and Demanding
17 Nov 2022 - PSE IV in Tucson, AZRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you like to help people this is a great job. It is rewarding to make a difference in your clients lives. The benefits are good and there are opportunities to move up
Cons
As a new supervisor there was never enough time to get done what they required of you... Subsequently I always felt like I had a choice of doing a crap job and getting the job done or always being behind. Success seemed to me more of a matter of being able to BS your way through reports, reviews and data. In a meeting a coworker out right lied about his stats. NO ONE CALLED HIM ON IT.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
it started out good but as soon as you get in the door things change
Cons
time not suppotive and dont work for the employee
- Former Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Good benefits but
23 Sep 2022 - Program Service Evaluator I in Mesa, AZRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great benefit options to choose from.
Cons
Pay could be more. Hard to move up in local offices unless you are good friends with management team. Although there are great benefits the more that you want your paycheck just gets lower and lower. I think with the benefits that I had I was bringing home half of the pay that I was getting in with the pay being so little it wasn't much.
