I worked at Anglian Water full-time

    Pros

Customer-focused, desire to succeed, leading their field.

    Cons

Very backwards, preaching innovation and creative thinking, but in truth this is restricted to one small area of the business and any deviation from the norm is frowned upon, or at the very least ignored in the wider business.

Senior management are dinosaurs and continue to hold the company back, which will cost them in the long-term.

    Advice to Management

The Board should dig deeper rather than just listening to what their senior managers are telling them, as they're a large part of the problem at the company and by the time they realise this it will be too late.

    Cons

Pay can be a little low. But when you love your job - its not the highest of concerns.

    Pros

They have the right people but they don't get treated right. Salery is okish. Gem awards

    Cons

Working hours are poor no flexibility, management are a joke put all their brain cells together and they might come up with an answer. Major corruption above team leader level they know who to fudge figures and get to the top. Incentives are zilch "here have a 5p sweet for hitting target. How this company got to number 1 is madness. The front lines agents are holding the company together

    Advice to Management

Stop creeping and stand up for yourselves and make an executive decision with ur agents. Higher management...... Time is limited

I have been working at Anglian Water full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly environment - feels like a family
    Respectful culture
    Good job security
    Flexible working locations
Focuses on being a good place to work

    Cons

Anglian Water is not an efficient company and poor value for customers can be widely seen across the business.
Disorderly in the way it conducts business (poor process, discipline and structure).
Poor car schemes (unless Sr. manager).
Does not utilise people to their best potential (in my opinion)
Does not value experience/ expertise outside of Anglian Water and the water industry.

    Advice to Management

Bring in Sr. management from other industries (consumer goods/ manufacturing would seem good) into the business with true commercial experience.
Drive a culture of cost reduction to benefit the customer (sizeable bill reductions are certainly easily possible).
Improve data capture across the business (including partners).
More robust processes for managing and controlling partners/ contractors with the appreciation that there focus is on making as much money as possible.

I have been working at Anglian Water full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic working atmosphere, great opportunities for career and personal growth. The company actively pursues a working environment where everyone cares not only about the work we do and the customers we help but about what matters to its employees. Anglian water makes an effort to help its workforce talk openly about mental health, gender pay gaps and environmental awareness. They actively encourage employees to involve themselves in charity activities and personal growth programs. Its clear that upper level management genuinely care about the wellbeing of their workers and takes steps to make work life as enjoyable as possible.

    Cons

Most employees stay at Anglian water for over 20 years which, whilst being a shining endorsement for the company, means that in certain areas innovative ideas can be met with reluctance from the people who have been doing their work the same way for such a long time. Many projects require an aspect of behavioural change to be successful across the wider business.

    Advice to Management

Open up health and wellbeing training to the wider business - allowing more people to be trained in how to help others with problems such as mental health means employees are more likely to be able to find something they're willing to talk to when they need it.
