    I worked at Allied Healthcare

    Pros

Getting paid, when it's not wrong

    Cons

Having to pay for your own petrol, no travel time between clients, some carers never off their phones. No thanks for your hard work, working from before 7am till after 10pm just to get enough hours Zero hour contracts even though they say you'll get a contract you never get for the hours you want Office staff aren't consistent, ask one something and they'll answer then ask another and they tell you the opposite, think the Fraserburgh office makes up rules as they go along. Clients have to see various different carers every day, unless they complain then there's not the same carer each visit. Joke of a company

    Advice to Management

Pay mileage and give travel time. Respect the hardworking carers and pay better instead of all the silly employee of the month and refer a friend schemes

I worked at Allied Healthcare for more than 3 years

    Pros

Enjoyed office role. Helping clients and carers and dealing with day to day issues.

    Cons

However nobody worked as a team or backed you up if there were any issues especially when on call . Higher management would never return calls and ignored emails . Because of this there never enough carers in certain areas .Would not help with recruitment. Put up pay of carers which was little to late. Office staff was getting paid less than carers in the end. Certain office staff getting employed to do a role and doing everything but pushing work onto other office staff who were already overloaded.

I have been working at Allied Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Apart from the clients there are no pros at all

    Cons

constantly changing rotas even with half hour notice. forgetting about clients. no help at all from the office when something goes wrong. starting work at 06:30 am and finishing 22:20 lucky if you get an hour break all day. no support on going to a new client just told to read the book. pay is always wrong traveling time messed up and mileage never matches up. office is always contacting you on days off. being told you have to work more and more shifts. putting 2 runs a night on you. never come across office staff that are so rude unhelpful and so incompetent of their jobs. no care at all for service users or staff complete shambles just treated like slaves

I worked at Allied Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Service users are lovely and very grateful for your help. Fellow carers for the most part amazing.

    Cons

Office staff terrible; rotas never finished on time, treat their staff like the lowest of the low and expect the universe in return, vile to you if you cannot fit in extra calls, constant phone calls on days off and during booked holiday time, not at all understanding about illness. Not interested in assisting with return to work and take hours off you without warning. The job is always advertised at £8+ an hour, actual pay is £7.20 or less. Awful mileage pay and no time allocated to get between calls.

    I worked at Allied Healthcare

    Pros

    Good workmates, decent office space

    Cons

Poor salary, very poor computer system not fit for purpose, relentless workload, carers had all the power and office staff were left to mop up the ever increasing extra workload, frequently having to stay over hours to get the care vsits covered

I worked at Allied Healthcare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some of the clients are absolutely lovely, they make you feel like you're job is worthwhile

    Cons

Everything! Nothing good to say about the shambles that is allied. Too many awful people in the office that have no idea what the other half of the office is doing. Rude and forceful office staff that penalise you if you can't 'fit' in that extra call! Office staff have no regard or respect for clients, they are just names on a sheet!! Steer clear is my advise!! They took away my love of caring!! Lied to constantly and declined furthering my training which was promised!! They told a clients wife to leave her husband in his chair for 24 hours without a pad change or move of position!! No respect or care!!

    Advice to Management

Sack all the office staff and start again with people who actually give a damn about staff and clients!!

I have been working at Allied Healthcare for less than a year

    Pros

The clients are wonderful and easy to get along with and make the job worthwhile

    Cons

No organisation skills.....you get your rota for the next week on the Friday before when the offices are closed on the weekend so any changes that you wish to be made are next to impossible. Come Monday morning there is an 80% chance that your rota has been changed. Then at least another 2 more times during the week rotas get changed because there has been a mistake. The clients do not get regular carers and because of the carer rotas changing so much the client rotas are never accurate. You get a sense that they don't care about their clients at all.....they want the calls covered even if it's incredibly late! The office staff are often rude of you cannot help them and they don't work well with the carers to make their job easier. Most of the office staff have no previous care experiance and not training to do any kind of care I'm case of an emergency. I could go on..... Anyone considering working for this company.....DO NOT work for ampthill branch.

    Advice to Management

Replace the staff that have no idea what they are doing and have no care or compassion for the client that are providing for. Get organised. Listen to your carers and the clients!

    I worked at Allied Healthcare

    Pros

Nice clients, uniform provided. Fairly flexible

    Cons

Management ignore all emails, no id provided, sent out to work alone before all shadowing hours completed.came across one client who was being dealt with "on the side". Care coach told me to ignore a client who asked me to do a job for her. Another client had mouldy butter which had been ignored. The office staff are utterly appalling, don't work for them
