      Trust me... Don't do it. Literally go anywhere else

      Pros

      There are a few good people still left at Alation. Recruiters if you reach out to Alation people, they WILL take your call to GET OUT.

      Cons

      Alation doesn't like giving full comp and will do whatever it takes to make sure you don't get paid. Product team is lazy and can't keep the product working. Company has zero budget for anything.

While the comments above are yours to have as opinions, having been on the executive team for over 5 years, I honestly don’t align or stand behind much of the sentiment. It sounds like Alation wasn’t a good fit for you and I genuinely hope you find a better fit elsewhere.       Pros

      Hosted lunch and dinner Good healthcare for the employee, not as great for significant other Attracting enterprise logos

      Cons

      Key sr. people are leaving or have left Not promoting from within and overlooking highly qualified individuals Not much product innovation, a lot of time spent fixing bugs and troubleshooting client problems Not a culture that lifts up instead points fingers and assigns blame Overworked with no work-life balance

      Make Alation Great Again

      Pros

      Was once a great place to work with a cutting edge Data Catalog and excellent culture and people. People 'on the ground' are intelligent and motivated.

      Cons

      Unfortunately, Alation has fallen from it's spot at the top, and is increasingly bested by upstart competitors they formerly brushed aside. The issues are completely the fault of leadership focusing on the wrong things. Tech debt is staggering and innovation non-existent, impacting customers. Sales leadership tries to brush this aside with process and meetings, ignoring the elephant in the room.
