    I have been working at Accruent full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - If you do good work, you will get respect no matter what your seniority is. - Work/life balance was pretty good. Unlimited PTO was very nice. - Very flexible with remote work. - A great place to learn. - New Fortive 9 values seems like an improvement to the old company values.

    Cons

    - The org structure is very dysfunctional for a software company. There's no CTO, and engineering and operations are two completely separate entities. The org chart connects the two departments at the President level. Not good at all, considering the company is generally focused more on sales. - Compensation is not at market value. - Turnover is high, largely due to the reason above. Good talent leaves quickly. - Fortive 9 culture is hardly noticeable in the workplace. It's been almost 1.5 years since the acquisition.

    I worked at Accruent full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Working in The Domain is a plus but means an extra 30 minutes in your car each day. You can choose what to work on if your in a group like marketing which tells everyone their 'resources are stretched' to say no to new work. Unlimited PTO is real for favored employees, which are easy to identify as managers will spend time with them after hours. One manager's favorite promoted staff member had three weeks off in her first quarter of her new role, a position she never held in her career.

    Cons

    Lots of moral boosting but no employee protections from favoritism, bias, and inexperienced managers, many with a few months of mgmt experience able to fire experienced workers. Accruent has to pay higher salaries to attract great talent, yet this creates resentment among the long-term managers who worked there for years at under-market rates. Accruent sees being employee-focused as providing parties and free food instead of important items like having policies to restrict abusive managers and HR staff. I saw one manager increase her busiest employee's tasks on Monday then initiate firing them on Friday when angered over a delayed project. The HR staff never checked with the affected team which lost their best Product Manager. There's no sense of lifting employee importance with minimal job security, even after recent shocking employee events requiring counselors to be on onsite. Vindictive managers and rogue HR managers have no restraints if they wish to flippantly exit someone, instead of attempting to move them to another role within a 40,000 employee global organization, a common practice of world-class, employee-focused companies.

    Pros

    Overall, the leadership and employees are supportive of each other, and most teams maintain a healthy culture where people can grow their careers and take reasonable risks. In many cases, if you want more opportunity, experience or exposure, all you need to do is ask to get the ball rolling, although it will always be up to you to follow through and get the most out of it. It's a culture that demands self-motivation and discipline, accountability his highly prized, and priorities change quickly and frequently, so it's not for everyone. But if you want a job where the pace and direction of your development is very much something you have a lot of influence over, and where you'll never be bored if you don't want to be, Accruent is a great place for that. Additionally, many roles have a lot of flexibility when it comes to working hours and working remotely, which is a major benefit when it comes to managing work-life balance. And the unlimited PTO is awesome.

    Cons

    Resources across teams are often spread very thin, so while it might be a great place for personal and career development, it can take a long time to see rewarding progress on initiatives and products.

    I worked at Accruent full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    The growth this company is experiencing is impressive, and after being acquired by Fortive they now have a parent company that has a strong commitment to continuous innovation and business systems that will move the needle even more. For anyone joining now, this creates a lot of new opportunities for lasting growth and security. For a product marketer, the work is challenging, with a lot of freedom to own the strategy, really drive business, and feel connected to successes. I felt like a valued member of a strong team. This company does what it says it will do, and the people there are some of the smartest, hardest working folks I've come across. On the benefits side, they're solid, with great paternity policies, unlimited PTO that you're encouraged to use, good 401k match, etc. Working in the Domain is pretty neat if you're into that scene. A lot of people that work there live there, which sounds like the best commute ever.

    Cons

    There's some real challenges that being an acquisition-driven company faces product-wise. Integrations are needed that aren't there yet. Industry solutions are still evolving. These are good problems to have and they're working on them. The bad problems to have is that compensation isn't very competitive and work/life balance was a little skewed the wrong way. I'd be surprised if this isn't something they address quickly because otherwise it just makes it too easy for other companies to come in with a more attractive offer, which is what happened to me. Otherwise I'd still be there.

    Pros

    New Orleans is fast becoming a hub for technology companies and Accruent is taking full advantage of it. The company is headquartered in Austin, but the New Orleans office feels like its own entity. Casual dress code, unlimited PTO, interesting technology projects to work on. Your success in the company is directly contingent on your progress. You're encouraged to learn more and grow in your role. The company culture is second to none. The ability to work from home is a huge plus. Walking distance to the French Quarter. Monthly happy hours. It's just great.

    Cons

    Parking is difficult, but it's downtown New Orleans. Find a way around it. Some people end up walking a mile or more into the office. But there's the bus, the streetcar, lots of bike options. Pay can vary widely. It really depends on the role you're hired for. There had been some issues in the past with accusations of the company paying below market rate. But think about this. If you're hired for a support role, you honestly can't expect to earn the same as a senior developer. The office is also growing. Fast. There will be growing pains. I've been with the company for nine months and have changed desks three times. Those are temporary problems while the NOLA office builds out.

    Pros

    I have been with Accruent New Orleans office since November 2018 and here are my opinions about the company. There are MANY reasons you want to consider reading this before joining the Accruent. 1. Unlimited PTO (Paid Time Off) - As long as your manager approves of it, you can take off while being paid. 2. Flexibility - You may be able to WORK FROM HOME depending on your team and your situation. 3. Skills and Experience - You are surrounded by brilliant people in their field and this will cause you to develop yourself and learn from the best to stay up to date with the latest technologies. 4. Culture - Accruent offers lots of culture programs allowing you to connect with people of similar interest and goals. 5. Free snacks and happy hours.

    Cons

    1. Being part of a company that acquires other companies can be scary... but from my experience it has been nothing but greatness! 2. Being in the CBD area of New Orleans, paying for parking is bad. The company offers wageworks as well as a discount to lower the fees with local parking companies, making it a bit better.

    I worked at Accruent full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    They a generally good for those looking for career changes, or willing to accept under-paying salaries for an opportunity to get a start in a field. They do have some good in-office perks, comfortable unlimited PTO, flexible schedule, standard package for health/retirement.

    Cons

    Really bad at keeping employees happy after a certain amount of time. They do not make much effort to ensure current employee happiness. Career progression is based on how aggressive you can market yourself to your manager and to those in the next tier or two. Salary increments are also the same case as you're not guaranteed a fair salary increase each year. Management will argue that they have a limited budget and only able to give a certain amount. However, this is not true after several employees were able to argue that their skills were valuable enough to merit a salary bump and some were only able to get it after showing alternative job offers from other companies with the offered salary. After leaving Accruent, it's now evident that they don't care for former employees either. Their 401k practices are unacceptable when they intentionally roll over former 401k accounts into IRAs without former employee's consent or at least a letter of notification prior to the occurrence.

    The product innovation could be better. The company spends a lot of its money acquiring new products instead of investing in its current workforce.

    Pros

    Unlimited PTO. Flexibility in work. Work life balance.

    Cons

    Accruent likes to acquire companies as part of it growth goals. The companies acquired are from all over the US (and world). However, Austin is the headquarters. If you are not in Austin you feel like you are just a sideshow. All management is in Austin, all company meetings take place in Austin, HR is in Austin, training is Austin, most decisions are made in Austin, most new hires are in Austin. I see little room for career growth at Accruent. Not enough attention is paid how to integrate acquired companies into Accruent. The company is going through growing pains and not figured out how to be a "big" company. There is a ton of turnover. Every person in a senior position or managerial position seems to have been there for less than 2 years including the CTO, CEO, CFO.
