I have been working at APCO Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible working from home, great hard working environment and sociable. Interesting work.

    Cons

Salary could be improved for those who contribute to company success, particularly at lower level.

    Advice to Management

You have hired well in the last year, look after those stars before they get poached. This includes consultants and finance.

I worked at APCO Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Good exposure to excellent clients and interesting projects - Very smart colleagues and a positive work environment - Access to learn new things-- the UAE team was growing in capabilities, meant that you could walk up to most people and ask them to explain a new skill

    Cons

    - Very demanding clients meant that work-life balance was a challenge - Long hours with high expectations for excellence within the company itself

    Advice to Management

Senior management could manage expectations with clients better. The lay of the land in the UAE was that anything a key client said was the way to go, and this is not necessarily the case-- especially if it impacts the team badly.

I worked at APCO Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Great work environment for teaching young professionals how to conduct themselves in the workplace and talk to/manage clients. Fantastic fellow coworkers and peers.

    Cons

Inflexible hierarchy. Hard or outstanding work does not help you climb the ladder any faster than your peers. I left at a time of extremely high staff turnover which was demoralizing.

I have been working at APCO Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Flexible in holiday-taking, professional in doing business, friendly working environment. Overall, it is a pretty good platform for those who just graduated. People who are proactive can grow very fast

    Cons

lower salary, rigid company rules for promotion... this is more about the situation in Greater China

    Advice to Management

care more about the junior-to-mid level employees instead of all focusing on management level. Communicate with employees to keep most information transparent

I worked at APCO Worldwide part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Collegial work environment; good division of responsibilities; Director (Nelson) cares about employees learning, development, training and advancement in the company; NY office has great diversity of thought, background and experiences; work environment conducive to productivity; office culture was important; great if you want to work on corporate clients rather than public affairs

    Cons

salary for entry and junior-level employees is not fit for realities of living in New York City -- No one could possibly live on 30-40k; advancement is by years exp rather than by merit (too process oriented).

I worked at APCO Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Lots of junior staff, happy hours every Thursday, great opportunities to learn more about your practice area. Hard working but good work environment.

    Cons

The different practice areas are siloed off so it can be tough to reach outside your area for advice, help, or different experiences. Work environment is highly dependent on your "bucket."

    Advice to Management

Management should appreciate the junior staff more and find ways to let them get great experience while also having support.

    Pros

Impressive international network, highly skilled workforce with good expertise/backgrounds, supportive working environment

    Cons

Jack of all trades, master of none. Lack of stimulating work. Senior management is very poor. Culture is too unfocused

    Advice to Management

    Specialise, refocus the culture
