Mission: We have made commitments to sustainability that help drive our business. By 2020 we plan to power more than 2 million homes using waste to create energy and manage to more than 20 million tons of recyclable material per year.
I have been working at Waste Management full-time (More than 3 years)
Great stock benefits and 401k. The people who work at WM are generally good people who are easy to work with and talk to. WM has a way of weeding out the bad apples (bullies, cheats, etc). There is good job stability if you show up and do your job to the best of your abilities.
The goals of different departments are often at odds with each other, which creates friction. Heavy workload.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Waste Management (Atlanta, GA (US)) in May 2011.
First talked to a recruiter on the phone, then in person interview with two managers, asked about previous sales experience. It was a conversation about sales techniques and my own questions about the corporate culture and upward mobility. Not a tough interview at all.
