I worked at Sussex Health Care part-time (More than 3 years)

    - Residents are great (& their families supportive)
    - Care Home staff are generally kind & caring

    - Pay is rubbish even by general Care Home standards (It seems always under review supposedly awaiting a positive realignment! )
    - Staff levels at the Homes are always run at the minimum possible level (& in my experience below on some occasions) .... this leads to inevitable stress on Care workers, & with this obviously mistakes & accidents are bound to happen.
    - Management & particularly HQ staff are unsupportive of their colleagues at the Homes (in many cases almost deliberately trying to be awkward)
    - With the CQC (Google the reports) & Local Authority scrutiny, plus the history of bad press the company has attracted .... I can only imagine that fairly soon someone will pull the rug from below Sussex Healthcare, & they'll be forced to close. I see this as ultimately a good thing.

    Advice to Management

Either put 'care' as the number 1 priority (with staff welfare at 2), & ignore the owners insistence for profit, profit, profit ... or leave & get another job!
