Nando's UK & IRE – Why Work With Us?

Today, there are over 400 Nando’s restaurants in the UK, but our story starts long before the first UK restaurants opened here in West London suburb of Ealing. It’s a story of discovery, passion and ambition. It’s an evolving story too, so while we always look back on where we’ve come from with pride, it’s where we’re going next that really gets us excited. Have a read for yourself and see if you agree.

Our way of working

Our main aim is to simply create memorable experiences for everyone who has a bit (or a lot) of Nando’s in their life – our customers, communities, founders and suppliers. In fact, it’s everyone we work with. How do we do it? Good question.

It really comes down to the fact that we genuinely care for one another. We want everyone in our family to be happy and succeed, so we keep an eye out for each other, inspire each other and celebrate with each other.
Our informal approach to work means we don’t take ourselves too seriously, and that everyone can be true to themselves. Who we are at work is who we are at home.

Since the very beginning, our values have been our guiding light. Pride, passion, courage, integrity and most of all family, are the 5 things we live and breathe, every day.

Everyone at Nando’s has their own story relating to one or more of our values…

"Why Nando’s?" That’s a good question, but also a question with no definitive answer. In fact, if you asked everyone who worked for us, you’d probably get a different answer every time. For some it may be the fact that we’re the kind of name that’s on everyone’s lips. For others it may be the fact that we’ve won awards for being a great place to work and continually invest in our people. To be on the safe side, we’ll go over a few of the reasons why people join us.

We invest a great deal in helping you to be yourself at your best. Whether that’s helping you to fulfil your full potential in your current role or help you aim even higher, we’ll work with you to make sure it happens. When you’re enjoying your experience with us, our customers find themselves smiling too.

It doesn’t matter where you join us, in the first month we’ll show you the basics and continue from there. Everyone has their own preferred way of learning, so our training programmes are tailored to individual needs, putting you in control of your own journey. Whether it’s learning new skills, learning about yourself, learning from others, we’ll provide the map and guidance. You choose the route and destination. And, as with everything else at Nando’s, you can be assured that we make it fun.

Room For Just About Everyone

Decisions, decisions. Deciding which role is right for you is probably up there with working out which bite to go for after you’ve just ordered the Wing Roulette. The good thing is, it doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done in the past, there’s almost certainly a role here with your name on it. Here’s a quick overview. Delve deeper for more.

  • Work experience: We’re passionate about giving real opportunities to young people across the UK. So you’ll regularly find us working alongside organisations to offer work experience in our restaurants.
  • Community activity: Our family culture means we love doing things together, and no more so than when it’s for a great cause. All over the UK, our restaurants choose to act on causes close to their hearts.
  • Diversity: We’re proud to be home to people from all kinds of different backgrounds, but to us, diversity is more than creating an inclusive culture. It’s about maximising the opportunity our diverse opinions and talents can bring to the business.

  • No chuckin’ our chicken: At the end of a business day, most of our restaurants freeze our excess chicken and hand it over to soup kitchens and homeless shelters.
  • Food waste: Best waste is no waste at all. However, for the unavoidable food waste, over half of our restaurants send it off to anaerobic digesters to be used as fuel to make electricity and fertiliser.
  • Sourcing policies: All our chicken is Red Tractor, even in Ireland. We’re also committed to sustainable sourcing. 100% of our soya and palm oil used as ingredients is certified sustainable.

  • Recycling: More than 95% of our restaurant's sort dry mixed recycling (glass, cardboard, plastic), and over 50% are able to recycle the food waste too. (Increasing every day!) We also recycle the cooking oil and even our uniforms and donate unwanted equipment and furniture to charity.
  • Heat Recovery: Our grills are hot. About 270 degrees hhhot. Since 2010 we’ve used waste heat from the grills to heat the water at our new builds and refurbishments. This means using less electricity as a result.
  • Offices: It’s not a big part of our impact, but we’ve made some changes. We segregate all our waste in our offices, fitted LED lights, switched to double-sided printing, drink Fair Trade brews and tap water, and we’ve cold-heartedly ditched plastic cups.

Nando's are looking for a Benefits Advisor to join our ever expanding People Team.

To apply visit:

At Nando’s Central Support, we are extremely passionate about what we do and are looking for an equally passionate individual to take on the role as Benefits Advisor on an initial 12 month fixed term contract.

It’s an exciting time in Nando’s - we’ve recently introduced new benefits and are looking to launch more in the near future. With that in mind, we are looking for someone with the passion to help with our existing benefits to make the best possible impact for our Nandocas (Nando’s employees). As well as that, we need someone to help identify and launch new benefits brilliantly, making sure every one of our 16,000 Nandocas feels truly valued. The successful person will also manage end-to-end projects and help shape our benefits.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in the reward/benefits space. Strong planning, organisation and communication skills are vital for the success in this role. Equally so, your ability to make things happen by working collaboratively with many different people across multiple teams will be key. These softer skills will be complemented by your naturally analytical and curious mind.  You will be able to build and test theories and think commercially.

Growing Others is at the heart of Nando’s and in the 12 months in this role. You’ll be in an environment that allows you to learn, develop and provides opportunity, to stretch and challenge. All while being given the appropriate guidance, support and direction when needed.

So what’s in it for you?

  • A Central Support bonus
  • Pension scheme
  • Nando’s meal every day you work
  • 40% discount at all Nando’s restaurants when visiting with family and friends Monday to Thursday, and 20% discount Friday to Sunday
  • Annual Family Day - All Nandocas can invite their family for a party in the park

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the award winning People Team at Nando’s, and an extremely exciting time to be involved with Reward as we grow this part of our business. If this opportunity ignites your passion and making things happen is what gets you out of bed in the morning, please apply today.

  • There are loads of other benefits too, but if we listed them all here you’d never get around to applying!

So if this sounds like the role and company for you then please apply.

    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied in-person. The process took a week. I interviewed at Nando's UK & IRE (Dublin, Co. Dublin).

The most fun interview process I ever had!

I first met with a manager who asked some questions about myself and told me more about the job.

Then, I came for an interview where I was grouped with other people and we had very fun tasks to complete together.

Then, I had an additional interview with a manager and a team member.

Finally, I came in for a shift trial which allowed me to have a foretaste of the job to see if it was something I could handle.
