I worked at British Council full-time

    Pros

Good health insurance policies, generally well managed teaching centers

    Cons

Very little flexibility with leaves and unsociable working hours in late evening or weekends

    Advice to Management

HR needs to communicate policies very very clearly to employees. there's a lot of ambiguity about leave policy

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at British Council (Dhaka (Bangladesh)).

    Interview

Was invited to a face to face meeting with a panel of three staff. There was one general question about work experience, i.e. providing a summary of CV and then several competency based questions based on behaviours the organisation prioritises and competencies outlined in the job description. It ended with an 'anything else you would like to mention that hasn't already been discussed' type question and then time for my own questions. Total interview time was approximately 40 minutes.
