I have been working at SAI Global full-time (More than a year)
Very smart co-workers
Great vision for the Learning business
Very good work/life balance/work from home encouraged
Ability to grow with the business
Acquisition integration isn't a core competency of SAI, so the recent acquisitions have been painful. Almost all the problems at SAI stem from integration issues (process and documentation, product rationalisation, technology integration).
Some arbitrary decision making regarding RIFs
Advice to Management
The management has, within the last 6 months, made some very good moves in the right direction. They have brought in seasoned executives who have replaced people whose skill sets hadn't scaled with the company. So, more of the same, really: continue to make hard decisions, look at our product set and services strategically and make the investments necessary to move our vision forward.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at SAI Global (Boston, MA (US)) in January 2011.
Was interviewed by entire team. process took several week. Most of the questions were behavioral and substantive. Since I hadn't managed projects in the this industry before, most of the questions focused on how my old skills would apply to the new industry. I could tell that there was some question as to whether I could handle the change in portfolio, but there was such a good personal connection that I felt like I could overcome the challenges.
