    Software Development Engineer (SDE) Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Gurgaon, Haryana (India)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Bharti Airtel (Gurgaon, Haryana (India)) in June 2022.

    Interview

Its good to hear other side of the story too. And I think, I have enough rights to raise questions. From the tone of voice, it was difficult for me to convey the message over call so I am writing this mail to management. Few feedbacks from my side :-

It's okay to reject a candidate but atleast inform them that they are rejected. Ghosting a candidate doesn't help.
Is it employers fault or candidates fault that rejected candidates is interviewed again. If you are not able to keep track of that then don't put burden on candidates shoulder.
If interview process is started gracefully it should be ended gracefully not abruptly. Candidate's time is also important, there is lot of effort involved from side of the candidate also like preparing, apprearing for interviews.
Why candidate is being judged from his previous interview process when new interview process is already started. Judgement should be solely based on new process. I openly admit that my 2nd round of 1st process was not good. But why these two rounds of fresh interview process which goes well are completely ignored. Either fresh interview should not be started at all.
See for every interview process there is lots of emotions and hopes attached. Isn't it quite unfair to ignore rounds which goes well and completely focus on single round which doesn't go well.
There could be many reasons why single interview can go wrong like bad day ,less preparation, depends on types of question, most importantly interviewer etc. It should not be a indicator for new process or candidates capabilities.
I also want to share some feedback about the interview. I am not judging or blaming the interviewer by any mean. Just pointing out few things which are not right in my opinion at least.
Interviewer should be friendly and make a comfortable place. Interviews can be stressful for candidates.
Interview is a place to assess approaches of candidate not a place to show off approaches you already know.
If candidate is not comfortable in few topics, then it is not a good idea to dig deeper in that topic.
Interviewer keep on asking tricky questions. (questions should be approachable)
Expecting impossible solution (239. Sliding Window Maximum) is a standard hard question on leetcode. It is well known fact that this problem cannot be solved without using space. Interviewers keep on asking me solve without space using two pointers.
In case candidate is getting nervous and not able to answer, interviewer should give hints and boost the morale of candidate.
Interviews should be structured well instead of throwing out random questions.
Interviewer is only interested in knowing approaches fixed in his mind without caring other approaches to solve a problem.
I hope management take my feedback as constructive and apply on their next recruitment process to find ideal candidate. I know the fact that recruitment is a unfair process but this experience was one level ahead.
