If your a cashier and the only one on duty, you got a long line, produce needs replenishing, AND a spill on aisle 2, In what order do you attend to these situations?

2 Answers

My initial thought in this situation is why would there not be a manager anywhere in the store to make a cashier the only one on duty? As a cashier I would try to call a manager to help with the spill if possible while i took care of the guests in line and then stocked produce. I definitely agree with the above person that the spill could be a liability and would hope the customers would understand! Less

I said Spill first, then the line(apologizing to the customers), then replenish produce. After the interview I thought maybe the line of customers should have been first, but spills are a safety and liabilitiy hazard. Less

Explain to me a time in a past job where you stepped up as a manager

2 Answers

I used an example from the Army.

Use an example that demonstrates your leadership skills and willingness to take initiative. Stepping up means finding solutions, not excuses. For example maybe there was an issue that coworkers would complain about ("somebody should do something about this") and you were able to find a solution on your own. Less
