(Not a surprise, but harder than you think) How well do you know the area?

Comment: Just because you've lived in a town most of your life, doesn't mean you know it well enough to deliver. If you really want the job, take some time to study the streets within a 10 minute drive or so from the store. Maybe even quiz yourself on vertical and horizontal streets going away from it. Also, understand the numbering layout. There's a system to it in every town. Typically, there is a north-south and an east-west dividing road. Example: Union for east-west, and Front or Main street for North-south. You will notice that the numbers going away from these typically go up numerically. Also, there will be a method to evens and odds. Usually, as the blocks go up, the evens will be on the right. If you can study and understand these things, and memorize the names of some streets (side streets not just main ones), they're going to treasure you, and you're going to have an easier time on the job. Avoid thinking you'll just rely on GPS... it's too slow for the fast pace. Less
