Even though the position was a Sr Manager -- and I have 20+ years experience - I was given a "homework" assignment more suitable for recent grads and interns. If I was interviewing for CFO, would they have given me a math quiz?

I tried to answer in far more detail than was asked. After I was told I would not be moving forward, I politely asked for feedback Not only was I not given any, they wouldn't even respond to tell me it was against their policy not to give feedback (something I later learned from Glassdoor). Maybe I rejected because of age? Less

You were not rejected because of age. I was hired by Tableau at 58 years of age, and there are lots and lots of gray-haired people around. It is the friendliest situation for people in their 50's and 60's and even 70's that I have ever encountered in my long, long career :). Less

I usually work with focused skills instead of 1 sock fits all approach.

Hello Eric , Just letting you know that I've tried to call you a few times and haven't been able to get in contact with you. This will be my last attempt to contact you for an interview. If you are interested in getting that set up please call me at the office at 614-301-4922. Thanks, Columbus Marketing HR Department 614-301-4922

Repsonse: With all respect, you have called me once, not a few times. You left no message stating who you were or what the call was regarding. I called back to the number you called from, assuming that it was Columbus Marketing and confirming with a quick google search for the number. I was given no prompt that it was Columbus Marketing but I left a message anyway. In addition, you responded with no confirmation that you would be calling within the hours I provided, so I was not aware you would be calling or that I needed to adjust my schedule to expect your call. Furthermore my questions regarding the position were not answered or even addressed in within my response email, it would seem they were ignored completely. The communication mishaps, and exaggerated attempts to contact, paired with the holes in HR process, leaves a strong lack of confidence in Columbus Marketing, INC. as an employer. I do appreciate your time and wish you the best but I think it is best that I explore other opportunities. Good luck in your search. Less
