Long and drawn out. Process took over two months. Back and forth between a person that wasn’t even hr- maybe that’s why it was so sloppy and chaotic. It doesn’t take 2 months to onboard a person in this market hands down. I applied via LinkedIn, was asked for an interview that lasted well over an hour. It was very positive as I have over 19 years experience and clearly I know what I am talking about. Then I’m asked to do a project (free work) which I’m reluctant to do because companies take your work , run with it , then hire someone with less experience and pay them less. This is what happened in this case. They were transparent about salary from the beginning, which I was fine with, and I always had to chase them down to follow up. It was ridiculous. I wrote a 7 page project. I followed up and they said we decided to go with another candidate. Ok, can I have feedback? No feedback. I made it clear that they were to not use my ideas for any upcoming projects. They said they were willing to spend up to 1 million on a celebrity campaign but not pay your employees right? Huge red flag everywhere. Run far away. They obviously hired someone less qualified than me for the financial reasons and took my ideas with them. Shady company.
