Basically it consisted of three parts - first one was the application testing - I needed to find the largest number of bugs in one small program and create a bug report. For that I looked up how they are made, how to build reports, types of bugs. Also highlighted design and UI problems there. After successful completion they appointed an interview in their office. Firstly there was a group test, approximately 7 candidates in one room, everybody got a test paper and one hour to complete the questions. There were a lot of Windows, Linux administration questions, questions on logic and math, questions like how to translate some number to binary and hexadecimal. The largest question was on how would I test floor weight scale. The third part was a 1:1 with QA engineer. They took my paper with answers and we went through them, are they right or not. And majority of time we spent on discussion of weight testing. For example, how would I test them if I want to create a warranty - that was some kind of the main point. The not pleasant part was that after we finished with questions and manager asked, do I have any questions, when I started to ask them, he looked like he was in hurry, and after just a couple of questions manager suddenly stood up and said that he needs to go to the meeting, and if I have something else, I'd better ask him in the elevator, that wasn't very professional. At the end he said that they will contact me, whatever the result would be. Three weeks passed and still no word. I wrote to them that I am still waiting for a decision - and at that day I received the negative answer. What's the reason in waiting for so long? I've wrote that okay, thanks for answer, and asked for a feedback and about possibility of getting some of the questions from the test for me to learn them better. No answer at all. So to conclude, the whole interview process is quite nice at whole, and questions are not so hard, if you know the administration field, but I still dont quite understand why administration questions were in the majority on the Junior QA Analyst position.

I did the technical part of the interview which was exhausting. Never received any feedback on technical test, just a rejection by the generic email. Taking into account that it was a junior position, some comments and critics could be useful for the future job search.
