Process took a bit but everyone was kind. I liked the initial recruiter and had 3 different Zoom interviews. All of the folks I met with spoke highly of the company and were professional. Interview was full of situational questions. When I got a call from a different recruiter after the interview, I was given a verbal offer. I told them that I'd like the day to think about it. After our call, I emailed and shared some Q3 obligations I had from my consulting business. During the interview process, I told all of my interviewers I was a consultant and had obligations for Q3. None of them batted an eyelash about it. The next day I'm prepared to take the offer and they called and said it was rescinded as they need someone working 40 hours a week. I've never had such a thing happen to me before and I offered to cancel those obligations and they still said no. Honestly, it sounds like I dodged a bullet since as a contractor you get no time off or paid holidays but I've never worked for an organization that didn't allow flexibility as in the past I've made up time on weekends or mornings/evenings. It was definitely a stark contrast to the way employees spoke highly of the organization and leadership during my interview.
