Interview
This is neither, it is a position that is granted by both the command sergeant major and the battalion commander who will determine if you qualify and have the competence to lead Soldiers into combat. If selected there is a 24 month requirement to say on as the senior enlisted advisor before you can move onto another position.

Contact a recruiter. Discuss career aspirations. Join. Take ASVAB, select job. Collect swag and tell your friends you’re doing something with your life. Pass physical examination at MEPS prior to shipping.
Great Job. Lead 178 troops in several countries with global capabilities. Nation Building, security and emergency response. Assisted commander in daily operations, negotiated complex route travel plans with host countries.

Depends on rank, you go through an in person board process up to E6 then is is a records review. The goal is to do well in the in person interviews. Then later to keep you DA records up to date.
