I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at The Ohio State University (Columbus, OH) in Mar 2011
Interview
Searched OSU job board and emailed the professors who advertised. I was contacted back almost immediately asking to set up a one on one interview with the professor. Met with the professor in his office where we discussed my roles as a research assistant.

Question 1
What makes you interested in my field of research?
It was not a typical job interview. There were no many questions asked, but rather it was l long presentation on research that was done in the lab. It seemed like they tried to sell the position to me.
Chat with the professor and other lab members. Informational interview, talk about their research and my background. Very interesting process, people were all nice and they treated me well. I really enjoyed my talk with them and ended up joining the lab.

Interview
A short ~20 minute phone interview first, then a zoom interview--one hour with the directors/associate directors, then another hour with the other research associates, then 30 minutes to complete a task.
