I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Saint Louis, MO) in Jul 2013
Interview
They were very unorganized and did not impress me as a trustworthy organization. They really lacked on their follow through. I was overdressed, much better than my interviewer. They over glorified the position and under expressed the level of activity required. They said one thing in the interview than violated that statement on the actual work floor. There was three interviews and neither of them was with the actual person I was going to be working with. If I would have been interviewed buy the immediate supervisor at the time I would never have taken the position in the first place.

Question 1
The starting pay is $9.25 and hour, how will that work for you?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot in Mar 2026
Interview
I applied online, and in less than a week, I received an email to schedule a virtual interview with HR from Toronto. He asked me how many hours I could work, if I could start at 6 AM, work Monday to Friday, and if I could lift up to 30 lbs. After that, I talked about myself and answered his interview questions. I had the online interview on Friday, and he scheduled my next in-person interview for Tuesday. I went into the store and met with the MET department. He talked about the benefits and the work environment. He only asked again if I could work from 6 AM, and he said that if I get an offer, I would need to sign it and send it back. Two days later, I got the offer.
Was emailed that they wanted to interview me about a month or so after applying. Did a 1 on 1 interview with the store manager, and the interview was about 20-30 minutes long.

Question 1
Was asked about the HD value wheel, and what it means to me. I was also asked about how I believe I could contribute to those values.
The interview process was very simple. Manager was nice and upfront. The questions were based on the hours I could work, not too much about experience. Just go in confidently and you will get it.
