I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SemanticBits in Jan 2020
Interview
I only had a phone screen, but it was enough to make me not want to work here. First of all, the process requires a 90 minute live coding session, even though I have 20+ years of experience. I found that to be somewhat insulting, but didn't make a big deal about it. The HR rep seemed overly concerned with me keeping a part-time contract, which made me wonder how much crunch time would be involved here. I also got the feeling that my salary requirements were too high, even though I'm basically industry average, i.e., they do not offer competitive pay.
Thank you for your feedback on our interview process. Coding sessions are quite common in any thorough interview process. The only way to know if a candidate’s experience matches the needs of our customers is to customize a challenge to test for those skills. Our salary and benefits are quite competitive. Couple our compensation package with a supportive and flexible work culture, and our employees find it to be a wonderful place to work. Thanks again for your review. We hope that you find a home for your skills and 20+ years of experience.
