      Business Process Engineer Interview

      26 Sept 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Fort Lauderdale, FL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Robots and Pencils (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in Sept 2020

      Interview

I had actually never heard of the company before until I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn. Per her outreach she thought my qualifications fit the position. I’m not actively looking to leave my current position but I said yes to scheduling an interview because the position was interesting and it gave me an opportunity to hear more about the company. Of course I then researched R&P prior to the interview. However, by the time I finished reviewing the online feedback especially here on Glassdoor, I knew it would not be a good fit. During the actual interview the recruiter went from my qualifications were good for the original position to switching to another “maybe” position to “we’d like to keep you in our database” for future opportunities. I honestly believe the whole outreach was just to secure her pipeline to meet whatever KPIs are required for HR and make the company look diverse. I bring up the diversity topic because she mentioned it a few times and so does the R&P website. However looking at the company pictures, they are the epitome of most tech companies with a token minority, in this case, I saw an Asian person in one of the company pics. The interview was very respectable and there were some laughs but it was quite obviously a professional publicity stunt. I declined completing part II, which was recording a personality video, to be linked to your resume, and saved in R&P’s database. Allowing them to later pull back up interviewees that may be a match for future roles and have a face to go with the resume to “jog” the recruiters memory...
