      Interview

The interview process was simple. The interviewer explained the interview process of me conducting a lesson for 10-15 minutes, while she acted as a student. She gave me feedback after the session was over.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Remind in Nov 2023

      Interview

About a week after applying through Indeed, Remind emailed me a link to use in order to access assessments that I needed to take in the areas in which I believed I was qualified to tutor. The assessments were short, easy, and untimed, however I noted that the questions had multiple typos and were not written as well as those found in classroom textbooks and workbooks. After passing the assessments, they sent me an email so I could schedule a virtual interview consisting primarily of a mock tutoring session. Once I scheduled the interview, they emailed me a list of the potential subjects and topics for the mock tutoring, as well as a link to a short YouTube video about using Limnu (the whiteboard that you are required to use as a Remind tutor). They also sent an email to inform me that the mock tutoring session would last about 15 minutes with 5 minutes for Q&A afterward, that the interviewer would be pretending to be my student, that feedback on my mock tutoring would be provided immediately thereafter, and that I would have to ask my "student" to rate, on a scale of 1 to 10, his/her confidence level with the subject tutored, both before and after tutoring. I arrived to my Zoom interview about 5 minutes before the scheduled time and waited. Eventually a message popped up in the chat box that stated that they were behind schedule due to technical difficulties. When my interviewer showed up, she was wearing a hoodie and had a virtual beach scene background, both of which struck me as unprofessional. I felt uncomfortable with the entire mock tutoring session because the topic I was given was vague and not a specific math or language arts question as I thought it would be. The feedback provided by the interviewer was just a statement of what she thought I did well and what I needed to improve upon. When the final 5 minutes set aside for Q&A arrived, I said that I had no questions; by that time I was no longer interested in working for Remind. I closed my application on Indeed, but they still sent a rejection email the next day.
