I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Qlik in Feb 2024
Interview
30 minute video interview with Qlik's global recruiter, The recruiter was two minutes late, I attempted to gracefully diffuse but they disagreed as their schedule would now be thrown off. This seems trivial but it set the tone.
I was excited for this interview as I could see a lot of business opportunities in the industry where I've worked for + 20 years. Unfortunately this individual didn't know what role I was interviewing for until we were doing introductions. No biggie. I attempted to build rapport a couple times, citing the fact Qlik acquired a new company (where I had direct experience) was acquired within the last week or so. Zero interest.
Then came a hard press to give a salary figure and was told "keep in mind no bonuses or equity." I'd really wanted to hold off on salary requirements until I got a better feel for the role and requirements but gave a figure at the upper range.
I think you can be professional and friendly but I didn't get that vibe. At one point the conversation almost felt adversarial in tone.
This company is private and fueled by a PE firm. Highly acquisitive. My first experience interviewing with a company with this DNA. Solid product, I see a lot of growth. Based on what I've read and experienced, the culture seems to map to many recent employee reviews. Proceed accordingly.
