I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Princess Nora University (Riyadh) in Jun 2012
Interview
It was online, done through SKYPE, complete with visuals. There were three people present. After the introduction, they asked me about my qualifications, etc. They took turns in asking me questions, and would leave long pauses, urging me to fill in the silence. The interview was concluded and they could not tell me immediately if I had the job or not. Two days later I got the email that my application was successful.

The interview process was a multiple-step process involving a recruiter in Dubai, me in North America (NE coast), and HR in Riyadh, KSA. It was primarily virtual via email, WhatsApp, Skype, and online during COVID-19. There was a notable 16-hour timezone difference. Interviewer was a male Saudi that had a black screen.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Princess Nora University (New York, NY) in May 2011
Interview
It was SKYPE interview which lasted about 1/2 hour. I was asked about my varied work and educational background in relation to English teaching. Sometimes these recruiters cannot imagine that a person can do more than one thing well and have multiple interests. I was asked about my experience abroad, the TEFL course I took in 2006, and what my expectations were about living in Saudi Arabia, and knowledge of the culture.
