I applied online. I interviewed at Oura in Aug 2025
Interview
The process had five stages: an initial HR screen, a technical interview, and a conversation with the software engineering manager. This was followed by a takehome assignment and a technical deepdive discussing the submission. The final stage covered reference checks and compensation discussions.

Question 1
Implement a mock activity-tracking app with solid business logic and an improved, user-friendly UI.
With start/stop recording with live metrics, persist sessions and show history, and add a post-launch gradual rollout via a feature-flag system that simulates backend control.
Applied and was sent an online assessment. The OA was in typescript only and that was not said in the email before accepting so I was unprepared for the syntax. I believe they were very strict in grading on expertise (which is fair) in the language.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Oura (Helsinki, Southern Finland)
Interview
Oura's communication during the process was exemplary. One of the things I appreciated the most was they kept in touch throughout, letting me know what to expect next and when to expect it.
The process wasn't excessively long: Application, one interview with HR and a technical one. They were fast to answer all questions, and to let me know they wanted to make me an offer. The official offer letter itself took a little bit longer to arrive, but not terribly so.
Overall, I would rate the hiring process highly. It's well planned and executed, and treats applicants with care and humanity.

They asked me to bring a project to the technical interview, which we discussed in depth; How it worked, why certain decisions were made, could they have been done differently, etc.
