I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2012
Interview
The interview was really just a networking session for the interviewer. I was asked for contacts even before any job offer was given. There was not much conversation on my experience, interests, skill set, or career path. I was given a packet of information to fill out and bring back upon the next interview or meeting, that would have my current 'network' and their information. The interviewer was friendly but very intense. Did not seem like she wanted to take no for an answer.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in Feb 2025
Interview
They were very quick to want to talk to me, having two virtual interviews and a speedy process. They were more focused on the connections that I had than the experience that I would gain over the summer.

I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Melville, NY)
Interview
Behavioral process very straightforward. Sales and people person focused. They walk you through the entire company. It’s a numbers game bringing in reps due to the natural attrition of the job.
