I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nautilus Labs (New York, NY) in Dec 2021

      Interview

It had a series of technical interviews and a take home assignment. The interviews were all redundant, they all asked the same questions about the assignment. The process took a couple of weeks

      Question 1

They asked a lot of questions about the take home assignment.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nautilus Labs in Jul 2022

      Interview

HR screen, hiring manager chat, take-home assessment, and then final rounds with team. After a great experience making it through the rounds and having good conversations, I was ghosted. I was given the thumbs up and made it to the point of talking numbers for an offer. Either they didn't want to negotiate a competitive offer or they were never really serious, but it was at this point that they stopped communicating with me. It was pretty disappointing considering the amount of effort and preparation put into this and being told an offer was coming. A red flag for how they treat people.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nautilus Labs (New York, NY) in Jan 2022

      Interview

After a quick HR phone screening, I proceeded to a 45 minute interview with a member of the Data Science team. I was then given a technical project to complete at home. After submitting the evening before, the next early afternoon I received a rejection with a note that they had already extended an offer to another candidate and the role is closed. Please note, people's time is valuable. Time and work put in is valuable. Asking someone to take hours out of their life to work on a technical project for a job when you are obviously very close to extending offers to other candidates much further along the process is a really gross way to engage with recruitment. I have a very extensive background in this field, and am 100% confident that what they received from me was sufficient to at least have the opportunity to present my findings. However, they obviously aren't creating people-centric pipelines for filling open roles.

Thank you for your feedback. We've taken time to look into where we made mistakes in this hiring cycle and have made policies and processes well-known across the team to be sure we don't repeat those mistakes. That said, it does not change your experience and we are very sorry about that. We aim to live by our values and, in this case, we were not Thoughtful in our communication or Empathetic in response to the time and effort that you dedicated to Nautilus Labs. If you'd like to reach out, I'd be happy to set up some time with you personally to discuss our hiring roadmaps and see where upcoming opportunities might align to your interests. If not, we completely understand and wish you well and nothing but success in your career.
