      # Interview Process Review ## Introduction In June I recently took part an interview process for a Java developer position in Paris. In this review, I will share my insights and experiences throughout the process. ## Initial Phone Call The process began with an introductory phone call, where the aim was to get to know me better and understand my career aspirations. This initial step allowed for a swift alignment between my goals and the company's expectations. It was a positive and efficient start to the process. ## Technical and Values Interviews The interview process comprised four stages: two Technical interviews and two Values interviews, all conducted remotely. This comprehensive approach spanned approximately two weeks. ### Technical Interviews 1. **Technical Interview 1 (Architect + Developer)**: This interview combined technical questions with real-world problems you may have encountered in a java app, such as performance issues. The questions were well-structured and focused on Java concepts, data structures, and the Spring framework. The interviewer fostered a comfortable environment for open discussions. They didn't ask questions about technologies you weren't familiar with. My interviewer exhibited strong skills. 2. **Technical Interview 2 (Team Manager + Developer)**: The second technical interview delved deeper into my previous experiences and posed technical questions related to them to assess my mastery. It was a very constructive exchange. ### Values Interviews 1. **Values Interview 1 (Lead Developer)**: This interview explored my alignment with the company's values and culture. It provided an opportunity to discuss my professional values and how they align with the organization's mission. 2. **Values Interview 2 (HR)**: The final interview assessed my soft skills and cultural fit within the team. It was a positive experience, and the interviewer demonstrated insight in gauging how well I'd integrate into the company's environment. ## Preparation and Tips I highly recommend preparing for your interviews using the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) format. This preparation proved invaluable during both technical and values interviews, saving time and ensuring a structured response. ## Conclusion In summary, this interview process was of high quality and efficiently conducted entirely remotely. While it may seem challenging if you're not adequately prepared, following the STAR format for responses, even in technical interviews, can significantly enhance your experience and chances of success.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

**About Technical Interview:** - Questions about Java basics. - Questions about Spring. - Questions about indexing. No quizzes. No questions about technologies you aren't familiar with. However, for each answer you provide, your interviewer will delve into your practical knowledge of the topic. (I won't provide too many details :-)) **About Values Interview:** Just standard STAR questions. However, the interviewer will ask you additional questions to gain a deeper understanding. Each interviewer will inquire about two values of Mirakl. Sometimes, you might need to provide the same answer twice, but try to prepare two examples for each value.
